By the end of the second year, students are required to complete internship and/or archaeological laboratory activities included in the degree programme curriculum, as set out in Article 7 of the Regulations. These activities are not graded but are assessed on a pass/fail basis.

Students may choose the activities they wish to undertake and are advised to agree their choice with the relevant teaching staff.

TYPES OF INTERNSHIP

 

• INTERNSHIP WITH AN AFFILIATED ORGANISATION

The complete and updated list of organisations affiliated with the University is available at sol.unifi.it/stage/firm_jsp/login.jsp. Credits are recognised according to the procedure indicated on the School website and under the responsibility of the Internship Office.

 

• ARCHAEOLOGICAL INTERNSHIP

Participation in archaeological excavations directed by Degree Programme teaching staff or carried out in agreement with other institutions is recognised as internship credits. For information, dates and participation procedures, please see the archaeological excavations page.

Credits for this internship are recorded upon submission of a certificate of participation. The teaching staff responsible for recording archaeological internships, code B029525, are M. Pucci, delegate/chair, L. Buccino and M. Nucciotti. Credits are recorded on the exam dates indicated on the examination calendar website.

 

• INTERNAL EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY

These are activities carried out within Departments and Schools and may also be preparatory to the final examination. Participation procedures and credit recognition are indicated on the School webpage.

 

• ACTIVITIES ABROAD

Erasmus+ traineeships, Erasmus+ BIP and Erasmus+ KA171 are activities carried out abroad and are regulated by calls published by the School Office, International Relations Service for international mobility, according to its own calendar.

Compulsory health and safety training in the workplace

Students enrolled in bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes and in specialisation schools who, during the practical activities required for internships or archaeological excavations, are  required to complete the relevant health and safety training, pursuant to Article 2, paragraph 1.a, of Legislative Decree 81/2008, the Consolidated Act on the protection of workers’ health and safety in the workplace.
